Overpriced, spreads horribly (chunky, could not spread it well) and greasy. I put it on my daughter’s rash twice and it just got worse. Normal creams typically clear it up. I understand all children are different, but I have never had a cream be such a waste of my time and money. Nowhere on the container does it even mention to be used for diaper rashes, but Amazon and cosmetic database said it is used for this.

You may be aware that carcinogens have been found in a number of traditional baby care products. [...]
Earth mama baby products score well with ewa.org (research almost any baby product there). The bottom balm in particular smells fabulous and is effective against diaper rash.

I bought my first jar from whole food, which cost more than buying this 3-pack divided by three. It is pricy but does work very well for diaper rash. Overnight time is long enough to heal his rash.

I’ve used this on my daughter since she was born and she’s 6 months old. We cloth diaper and people told me that when you cloth diaper, your baby gets really bad diaper rash. My daughter has never had diaper rash. I love the smell and how it can be used for other things (scrapes, burns, bites, etc.). I buy this for all baby showers I go to. This is also the most inexpensive I have found it. The first 2 2-oz jars I paid $18.95 for each.

This balm clears up diaper rash in a cinch. You couldn’t ask for better ingredients either…no nasty little chemicals or harsh essential oils that scald baby’s skin (Burts Bees! Yikes! Too much lavender!). Would also recommend the bottom balm formulated for postpartum moms.

My mom bought us a whole care package of Earth Mama Angel Baby products after our second child was born. She had done exhaustive research on the safety of a number of different baby products (you’d be surprised what’s in most of it) and this was one of the very, very few to rate a zero hazard on the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Database. So, that’s point one in its favor. Especially to a family like us with one child already suffering from serious ‘atopic dermatitis’ type skin issues.
So, for the actual product. It’s an oily substance, with a strong herbal scent. Strong, but pleasant scent if you like hippie herbal scents. The ingredient list, while not hazardous, is quite long. And my only gripe there is that with that many ingredients, it’s difficult to make a product truly hypoallergenic, because there’s such a huge palette of possible agents to irritate unusually sensitive skin. That said, we were fortunate that it didn’t work out that way for us with this one.
It’s not a miracle cream, but when you have have raw, red, irritated skin, it does have the distinct advantage of not burning. Because there’s no ingredient to mix the oil base to a creamy consistency, there are none of the often harmful agents that are known irritants to skin. The drawback of this is that the mixture can separate rather easily in very little time, forming small while beads throughout (these can be worked in and absorbed into the skin, but with less ease than the original mixture). It does not become rancid, and the shelf life extends beyond two years. I mention this because we found lotions and shampoos by this company begin to smell fermented quickly: think 2-6 months time.
As for the actual healing qualities of this mixture, I’d place them at slightly better than average. My kids have really, really, bad rashes and I’m a pretty harsh judge on products in this regard. I’ve found that the best maintenance product for eczema is California Baby’s Calendula Cream, but we can’t apply that when the kids have scratched themselves bloody (it has alcohol-based ingredients and stings), so this is our more-difficult-to-obtain fallback.
Final advice: I wouldn’t pass this up by any means, but I wouldn’t expect a miracle. It’s a better-than-average moisturizer and has herbal ingredients that, for most, will be soothing to the skin. I would rate it as being one of the more effective products in the small pool of safer baby products. Ironically, I have no experience using it as a diaper cream, so cannot comment in that regard.

This product is magic, love the smell and the feel, and above all I love the fact that I know it’s safe for my baby. It’s a very small jar but I was surprised how long it lasted because you only need to use very little of it, and I really mean very little
. I will never use another balm on our baby’s bottom, too bad I didn’t know about this when the baby was born.

We have used every type of cream, spray and salve available-but this is the only one that truly works! I LOVE it and can’t recommend it enough! It is also multi-functional as it works for scrapes, scratches, chapped lips and soothes sore noses when you have a cold. We use this exclusively and plan to do so with baby #2 as well. I personally love the smell and consistency-so natural. Now that my daughter is older she actually asks for it specifically-as she calls it the “stuff”
If we try to show her the other brands she says “No-STUFF!!” So this proves to me that it feels better for her as well!

We love this stuff. It makes the redness on the bottom go away in a matter of hours, and it is all natural. We used it at the daycare and our son’s teacher was so impressed she asked where she could get some for her daughter. I know it is expensive, but you don’t need very much of it at all and, for us, it is worth it to avoid the red bottom. Our son has very sensitive skin – he can’t use any commercial wipes – we only clean his bottom with water and the Angel Baby soap because it gets so red otherwise – and this doesn’t irritate him at all. We also use it on cuts and scrapes, and a rash my husband had on his hand. Soothing and gentle. Highly recommend.

It is worth its weight in gold. Hands down the best diaper cream out there. We’ve had a few minor rashes which this cleared up overnight. Also one BAD MEAN rash (LO and tomatoes are not a good mix!) was cleared up in a couple of days. After the first day it was almost gone. We use this on scrapes and bites, too.
